Creating New Locations
Creating a new map Location in See, Scan, Go! will allow you to easily direct a user to a specific place or position, anywhere in the world! Creating a new Location is easy, simply clicking the CREATE ITEM in the page navigation at the top of the screen.
The navigation is a drop down, showing you the item options for creation. In the navigation select "Create a Location", which will take you right to the create page to get started.
See, Scan, Go! will take you through a four step process, making it easy to enter your information and check it out before you finish.
Getting Started
The first step of the create process is simply an introduction, and a quick button to take you to the help page for more information. You can see an example of this first page below.
The help button on the page will take you right here, so you can get back at any time!
To start entering some information, click the CONTINUE button.
Location Details
After clicking continue you can see some essential items to enter, with the required fields indicated with an orange check mark. As you enter the information on this page, the orange marks will turn green, letting you know it's good to go!
For this page, you must enter a title and the details about the location position itself. This is easily done by typing in part of the address and clicking the search button, although the search is not mandatory.
The screen for the location details is shown below.
For an advanced user or a special situation, you can directly enter the latitude and longitude, or search for an address and fine-tune the exact coordinates. In the following screen a map marker is used to adjust the coordinates for a meeting point for an afternoon hike.
In the example above, once your location has been found simply drag the map marker to adjust the exact location desired.
Pictures and Enhancements
When you add an item, you can add pictures to customize the look. There are two types of pictures, first is a header picture which is featured in a circle in the top bar. The second is the background to the top bar itself, letting you mix and match all you wish.
Any pictures you have uploaded in your library can be selected from the drop down menu, or you can drag and drop new pictures into the page to add them on the fly.
The third step is shown below with a selected picture and a second one having just been uploaded and added to the library..
Review and Create
Finally, a quick review of your information, and you can get going! The review page is just a quick summary of what will be created, and you can just click to finish. The wizard lets you click back and adjust anything needed at any time, so you can be sure you have exactly the record you need.
Everything is editable after you have created it, which is very powerful for you. If rain changes plans, meeting places change, or anything else, simply edit the item and adjust the location, and keep people pointed to the right spot. Being able to redirect people at any time, without changing your Smart QR codes and Quick links is incredibly powerful, and incredibly easy for you!
An example of the review screen is shown below.
As you can see this is a simple review of the information, and you can just click the create button to create the new item.
Success!
Creating the create button will automatically take us to a new page, showing the item details and connectors. At this point your Location is fully ready for use, and you can click on the connectors to copy Smart QR codes or Quick links, or edit the settings for anything you might need.
The page below shows the new item, and you can click the update buttons to adjust any settings, including the position details, whenever it might be needed.
Previews
A convenient feature of the locations, when shared to people through the Smart QR codes and Quick links, is that See, Scan, Go! automatically generates a map preview of the item, and has easy links to open map applications.
The following screen shows the preview somebody will see after scanning the code or clicking the link, and they can quickly see the key points, and click to go!
Notice that your shared location automatically has links to share and open this location, just like somebody scanning your code or following your link would see. This makes it easy to do all the coordination you need and gets people to the same spot! With the subscribe feature, any changes made to the location are automatically mailed out, keeping people in the loop and arriving at the same spot.
